Winners of Digital Media Africa Awards 2016 honoured

In total, about 360 industry delegates from more than 16 countries are attending the three-day event at The Maslow Hotel, Sandton, in Johannesburg, South Africa. The event kicked off with a Facebook Live workshop led by Matej Lončarić and Goran Gavranović of 24sata, Croatia, drawing 200 participants.

The winners of the inaugural edition of the Digital Media Africa Awards were presented during a gala with DJ Rita Ray, as part of the first full day of the conference.

Media24, Independent Group, Nation Media Group and Times Media Group were among the winners of the awards presented by WAN-IFRA.

WAN-IFRA's Digital Media Awards are the most prestigious recognition of best practice innovation in digital publishing worldwide. The awards are presented in major regions throughout the world including Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and South Asia.

The winners from each region subsequently compete for the World Digital Media Awards, which will be announced for this year during WAN-IFRA's World Publishing Expo in Vienna in October.
