Juan Señor and Emma Goodman will present findings from the 2019 must-read Innovation in News Media World Report. A highlight: how low tech journalism is the most engaging in a high tech world.

This particular chapter will look at what many top publishers are investing in, now that they are seeking to bring consumers back to their own platforms rather than focusing mainly on social. The main takeaway? It’s not all AI-based technology – many publishers are putting a lot of effort into relatively low-tech offerings such as newsletters, or podcasts in an attempt to engage with their readers.

The report will also outline practical solutions to address the overall global decline in advertising, and dive deeper into reader revenue, highlighting different types of content audiences are willing to pay for, and what the best ways are to charge them for them.

This is the 21st time the research report, produced for WAN-IFRA by Innovation Media Consulting, will be presented at the World News Media Congress, taking place June 1 - 3 in Glasgow.
