Call for submissions “Press For More Award” 2016

The “Press for More Award” honors novel, inventive and promising practices for more and better journalism that guarantee a balanced freedom of expression. Submit your project until 14 March by completing the following submission form press for more award

For the second consecutive year, iMinds, Flanders’ digital research & entrepreneurship hub affiliated to WAN-IFRA’s Global Alliance for Media Innovation, is granting the iMinds Press for More Award. The Award will one of teh highlights of the Difference Day 2016, the European Gala for Freedom of Expression organized by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel/Université Libre de Bruxelles.

The award honors novel, inventive and promising practices for more and better journalism that guarantee a balanced freedom of expression

If you promote, develop or contribute to an innovative journalism project, with a creative solution contributing to a better informed society, in a model that encourages citizen interaction, then we encourage you to submit your project before March 14.

The laureate will receive a 5.000 € encouragement prize to further develop the initiative or to explore new paths to improve journalism.

The iMinds Press for More Award was established in 2015 by iMinds as part of the Difference Day event held during the World Press Freedom Day. The inaugural edition received 29 submissions from 15 different European countries. The 2015 laureate was Obviz, a content platform that applies innovative language processing algorithms to empower readers to better assess the pros and cons of various controversies.
