Arun Anant is CEO of The Hindu which is based in the south Indian city of Chennai and is one of India's leading newspapers.
Delivering the final presentation of the Conference, Arun had loads of questions to pose to the audience. Questions that grabbed him from his own experience at The Hindu.
He said that activity on social media now gave people like him a closer look at the behavior and responses of his readers.
He had seen that people tended to engage with stories on topics like entertainment and technology.
Arun said that in order to plan the future, newspapers would have to go back to the reader and understand him.
He said that his advertising team would not be just selling space but ones who offered solutions to clients.
