Folk night and traditional dinner at Museum of Folk Architecture and Life

The museum is located at the southern end of Kiev, situated on the outskirts of Kiev (Pirogovo) and depict Ukrainian nature, architecture and the way of life. Various types of houses, churches and mills either brought from or constructed as originals from different regions of Ukraine can be seen. The construction of Pirogovo began only in 1969 but the look and feel of 17th and 18th centuries have been successfully recreated. Inside the houses there are usually souvenier shops, in the churches you can see icons, old altars and other religious items.

The craftsmen have a little market there so you can look and buy away - handmade table cloths, embroidery, shoes, wooden kitchenware, accessories, sculptures, pictures, hats and more is on sale.

Together we visit the open-air museum – over 300 pieces of traditional Ukrainian folk buildings. They are gathered in a collection of villages, each depicting a different region of Ukraine.

You will be invited to feel traditional Ukrainian spirit with the traditional Ukrainian Cuisine and a traditional folk ensembles, ensemble of antique Ukrainian instruments, “Bottlefon”.

Come and join us for the World Newspaper Congress and/or 19th World Editors Forum in Kiev, Ukraine.
