“Contents have to be Like Water”

In his speech, Yung tells that although there are enormous downloads from web users, its newspaper circulations have not gone down. Therefore, he reckons that news is not dying and what we have to focus on is how to push the news to the audiences. “Contents have to be like water, have to be flexible,” said Yung. In other words, the best practice is to produce news contents that can fit video, animated, audio news.

Yung then introduce the types of news provided by Next Media Group. These include text and photos, video news, animated news, audio news, real-time news and TV news. He then speaks about the main challenges faced by Next Media Group, involving cross-platform development, how to monetize the apps and comprehend what readers check out on the web. He concludes that the key lesson learnt is “focus on building a service, not just an app.”
