A journey to the future

"We do have a free press in Botswana, but we're more suffering from the apathy of the people. They often don't want change," says Donald Moore, managing editor of The Voice.

He is impressed with the opening ceremony. "It was a wonderful ceremony, especially if you come from a country like Botswana, where you aren't used to shows like that with all the sound and light effects."

Also in terms of the media's technical development, he sees his country as being a few years behind the times. The advantage: "We are able to look into the future and how they try to handle it."
