Iraqi journalist escapes death threats, fleeing to Luxembourg

28-year-old Hind Al-Harby had been working as a TV journalist in Baghdad for five years, when she was forced to leave the country as a result of receiving death threats. After two years in Turkey, she took the so-called "death journey" to finally arrive in Luxembourg, where she now lives in a foyer awaiting asylum. Periscope's value on show as it celebrates its first year

On Tuesday after three explosions shook Brussels, journalists wanting an eyewitness account turned to Periscope in search of a live stream of events, captured on mobile phones by people at the airport and at the affected train station. It was exactly the type of situation where Periscope shows its value according to its 28-year old co-founder, Kayvon Beykpour, who was in Paris last week to talk to students.
