Social Media at the World Publishing Expo 2012

Social Media Stars!

If you want to learn from the Social Media Stars, I recommend attending the Media Port Session "Social Media Best Cases" on Tuesday, 30 October, 14.00 h - 16.30 h. This session will be moderated by the World Editors Forum Director Cherilyn Ireton and present the winners of this year's XMA Cross Media Awards and their success stories - publishers from around the globe that have excelled at integrating readers and users via social networks.

XMA Cross Media Award Celebration

Network with the Social Media Stars and have a drink together during the Happy Hour on Tuesday, 30 October, 18.00 - 20.00 h at the Media Port. The winners of the 2012 XMA Crossmedia competition come from Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, United Kingdom, Venezuela. You'll hardly find such a group of dedicated and skilled social media experts from around the world in one place anywhere else!

Tweetup Tuesday, 30 October, 18.00 h

There will also be a special area for a tweetup during that Happy Hour at the Media Port, so that you can meet your Twitter friends in real life. Sign up here for the tweetup and connect with your Twitter peers already before the event.

Exhibitors on Social Networks

In the online catalogue, you can find all the exhibitiors that offer solutions for social media integration, content management and editiorial workflows. Click here to find those vendors and the services they offer. There's almost 70 of them out of the 250+ exhibitors that attend the Expo!

On our blog, we have published a list of all the Twitter names of the World Publishing Expo exhibitors, so that you can easily follow them.

World Publishing Expo (IFRA Expo & Conference) on social networks

Of course, WAN-IFRA also tweets, blogs and what have you from the event! The best way to follow the event on social media is via Twitter:

  • WAN-IFRA: With more than 11.000 followers, a great resource for news and links about the publishing industry @newspaperworld
  • Event hashtags: #wpe12 #ifraexpo

Here's an overview of where you'll find the World Publishing Expo 2012 on social networks (with direct links, e.g. LinkedIn, XING, Youtube, Flickr).
