The 2012 INNOVATIONS in Newspapers World Report on behalf of WAN-IFRA will look at how newspapers have broken through the paywall blues and are finding that there is value in news and there are viable ways to charge for content. It will also outline the new revenue streams being discovered and developed by news publishers - from lead-generation to e-books, and click-to-buy techniques.
Juan Señor, a partner at Innovation Media Consulting Group, will present the report in Kiev on 5th September, the final day of the 64th World Newspaper Congress - 19th World Editors Forum.
It will highlight the new frontiers in digital journalism and how some news brands are benefiting from data analysis to support award-winning investigations and story-telling.
“Finally, it will examine the growth of family oriented popular newspapers in Brazil, how a French satirical weekly makes money while remaining strictly low-tech, and the role of the social media editor in a fully integrated newsroom,” says Señor.
